**MakeWay – Procedural Body Avoidance System** adds natural upper-body reactions to animated Humanoid characters in Unity. Characters twist, lean, adjust their shoulders, and make room for their arms and hands around nearby people and obstacles.

Use your existing movement controller and animations. No dedicated avoidance clips or Animation Rigging setup are required.

## Requirements

Use a valid **Humanoid Animator** with **Optimize Game Objects disabled**, and enabled **3D colliders** on obstacles.

MakeWay adjusts the visual pose. Your controller handles movement and physical collision. Reactions use nearby surfaces; trajectory prediction and shared passing decisions are not included. Clearance is approximate, so the controller must still provide enough room for the character.
